GLCFI Men Ministry

GLCFI Men’s Ministry seeks to encourage men to awaken their passion for Jesus Christ, to develop and strengthen relationships with each other and to live a purpose driven life impacting their family, their church and their community.
‘As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.’ – Proverbs 27:17

OurAims

To fulfill our vision, we seek to:
  • Encourage men to develop a close relationship with Christ and with other men and equip them to be responsible leaders at home, in church and at their workplace.

  • Create a culture of prayer and love for God’s Word, helping men embrace all that God has purposed for them.

  • Encourage men to pursue purity and integrity in their daily walk, emulating the example of Christ.

  • Equip the men to be a blessing in society by living out the Gospel and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ.
GLCFI Men’s ministry meets and fellowships regularly through a mixture of activities including Bible studies, informal gatherings, Activity nights, Men’s breakfast meeting and an annual convention.

10 Commandments For Husbands.

1. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind; and you shall love your wife as yourself.

2. You shall not make your wife into an idol, but you shall love, honour and respect her as Christ loved the church. Neither will you allow your work, friends, or hobbies to become an idol over your relationship with your wife.

3. You shall not take your wife's name in vain through gossip, slander, criticism, complaint or mockery; but you shall bless her both privately and publicly.

4. You shall remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. As part of your daily walk you will have times of prayer and study in the Word of God. You shall work heartily as directed by the Lord, not by your own ideas of what should be done. You will provide for your wife and children as best you are able with the Lord's help; but you will not be so busy working that you don't have time for them. You shall also remember that the weekend is for rest and your family.

5. You shall honour your mother and father, but you shall not elevate their position or opinions above your wife's.

6. You shall not kill your marriage by ignoring your wife. You shall not resent or revile or hate her, but you shall grant her grace, forgiveness, mercy and hazed love.

7. You shall not commit adultery in thought or deed, nor shall you think lustfully toward another woman; but you shall thank God for your woman and be pleased with her. You shall not use the excuse "a marriage license doesn't mean I can't look," for those looks may lead to adultery in thought.

8. You shall not steal from your wife. You shall not steal her marriage by threatening divorce. Nor steal her husband by leaving her alone all the time. Nor steal her time by placing unnecessary demands on yourself. Nor steal her joy by faultfinding. Nor steal her peace by endless arguing.

9. You shall not lie to your wife, but you shall speak the truth in love. You shall help her to overcome, not by criticism, but by being a godly example in the home.

10. You shall not covet another man's wife, children, friends, house, job, looks, possessions, talents and gifts, ministry, or any other thing that is his; but you shall be content with all God has given to you, especially with the blessing of the wife He has given you.
